When Escape Velocity Systems needed a developer to take on a complex project involving new technology on a tight deadline, they hired Inside Edge Software to do the job.

Escape Velocity is an ERP value-added reseller based in Boulder Colorado with nationwide clients. The project required developing an application that is distributed to their various client sites across their customer base. The application collects ERP data from remote sites and feeds a central dashboard web site.

To collect the data, a WCF monitoring service was developed. The WCF service monitors for requests from Windows clients. The client is a Windows service whose responsibility is to make periodic requests for Sql queries from the central WCF service at user configurable intervals, execute the query and return the results.  The query results are consolidated by the WCF service where they are display on the centeral dashboard.

Completion of the project involved configuring WCF to run using SSL to protect client data, developing a Windows application to install the service, developing a Windows application to configure the Windows service and developing the Windows service client.
